Why This Expo Is Different From the Usual Exhibition
Most women running small businesses in and around Udaipur face the same wall: the product is good, the skill is real, but the customer base stops at friends, family and the neighbourhood. The Swayamsiddha–Ahilya Udyam Expo 1.0 exists to push past that wall for three days in September.
It’s organised by the Ahilyabai Holkar Unit of Laghu Udyog Bharati, Udaipur, and it’s noticeably bigger than the Swayamsiddha editions the city has seen before — the organisers are working toward roughly 105 stalls, which is a serious jump in scale for a local expo of this kind.
The stalls will run across handicrafts, handloom and traditional textiles, tech-driven products, startups, and general women-owned businesses, with live demonstrations and organised networking built into the three days rather than left to chance.
